University Hospital Malaya. A place where I've once called home. Today - the day that I have once again spent my 3 hrs of precious time there. My phone was showing '7.12 a.m' when i just opened up my heavy eyes while stretching my lazy bones. It was such a waste to wake up so dead early on such a cosy and beautiful holiday morning. If it wasn't for the medical appointment, i bet i would have still been dreamily wandering in my own sweet dreams.
Finally. The familiar building came into my sight at about 8 in the morning.
I normally dread to go to hospitals. It's not because of the pain that i need to endure. nor the heavy and nauseating smell of medicines and chemicals. but only the hostility of the staffs. and. the 'do-not-mess-with-me' signs that are clearly shown on their faces. no smiles. no greetings. only unfriendly voices. They should be the ones to help and lend a helping hand to those who need it. They should be the ones who are kind at heart and care for these ill and helpless patients who need their tender-loving-care more than anyone else. but this is not what I've witnessed. Where is the love?
After 2 long hours of waiting and boredom, it's my turn! I eventually turned from calm-like-heaven to shaky-like-hell. my mom seemed to be even worried than I [thx azmi. XD] it reminds me of the days when i gt diagnosed having dengue fever. i wasn't fearful of death back then. i was just not prepared to leave my loved ones behind. and today, i had to stay calm and cool [at least, i looked calm] just to ensure mommy doesn't faint. =)
told and showed the doctor the swelling on my forehead. and i was then referred to a plastic surgeon.
"we'll keep an eye on it. come back in 3 months time to check whether has it increased in size. if no, you can choose to remove it or leave it alone. since it's been there for more thn 3 yrs, thn it should be nth serious."
"how old is she?"
"15."
"has she been thru any surgery before?"
"nope."
"will the surgery be risky?"
"neh. we'll give her a local anesthesia. remove it. and stitch it back. it'll leave a permanent scar thou."
aww. crap. scar. T.T
3.3.2008. my next appointment date.
all the best to all ACCA part II candidates. jie, you both better pass wit flying colours and make daddy mommy proud. =)
